A Life of Gratitude

A Life of Gratitude is a 35-day email devotional series that focuses on 31 ways in which you can be grateful. The idea came about during a season of extreme discouragement for me. I had just walked away from a dream I spent years pursuing, I felt utterly visionless about my life, God seemed really far away, and the overwhelm of my daily mundane responsibilities left me feeling hopelessly lost. Ever found yourself in that place?

In a moment of divine intervention - like only He could do - I turned on the tap in my kitchen to find myself profoundly amazed that water would start and stop with every on/off motion I created. Never in my life had I been mesmerized by the sheer luxury of accessible water.

That moment awakened something in me and it catapulted me on a 365-day journey where everyday I chose to see the profound beauty in my mundane life. Thus, A Life of Gratitude was born. But more importantly, my life of gratitude was born.

It is my sincerest prayer that for 35 days your heart will explode in appreciation for the simple things – the things you might not be mesmerized with yet, but the things I pray spark awakening in your soul. Until you learn to recognize the beauty of simplicity, you will continue to live in disappointment and discouragement over what you don’t have and what God isn’t doing for you.

It’s only in the choosing to see what you do have and what He is doing that your heart, soul and mind can fully allow for gratitude to be born.

The morning after signup you will receive your first email: the introduction. Following the intro, for 31 days, you will receive one email per day giving you four points to ponder: 

1. A scripture to absorb.

2. A topic to focus on.

3. A call to action.

4. An encouragement to pray.

Following all 31 emails, you will receive a conclusion email, followed by a note of thanks to wrap up the entire series. In total you will receive 35 emails from me.

So grab your Bible, a notebook and a pen, and prepare your heart for an adventure in simplicity and appreciation. It is only in how much you are willing to give that you will gain anything of value. He longs to change you, but do you long for Him to change you?
